Project :  Near Halstead, Essex  Ref:H1
Inground, Heated, Fully Tiled, Re-inforced Concrete Construction

Our client in North Essex is situated on wooded farmland overlooking a river.  The house built into a slight incline with the land falling away towards the river.  Our client wanted the pool situated adjacent to the house on an elevated terrace.  This aspect restricted the availability of space.

Requirements were that the pool should be aesthetcially pleasing and enhance the surroundings while remaining eminently practial to satisfy the growing needs and expectations of a lively family.  It had to be a functional area and allow lots of room for movement.

The pool terrace connects to the lower level of the house and in effect now forms a large outside room with barbecue and dining areas.  It is south facing so lends itself well to the owners' keen interest in growing exotic fruits.

More importantly for us, the client, as well as depending on our expertise, relied on our judgement to decide where to position the pool sympathetically to achieve practicality, balance and maximum impact.

Project:  Near Sudbury, Suffolk  Ref:  D1
Inground, Block & Liner, Heated Swimming Pool

This concrete block and liner pool was constructed on a restricted plot size with very limited access. The brief was to create a functional pool to relax in and enjoy the beautiful countryside surroundings.

Neptune prefers to use a good solid concrete construction method for all liner pools.

Project:  Manningtree, Essex  Ref: H2
Inground, Fully Tiled, Re-inforced Concrete Construction

The pool project at this site was part of a much grander scheme, which involved the full renovation of a former - badly neglected but very substantial - Victorian rectory and its grounds.  The remains of a large traditional kitchen garden surrounded by a red brick wall still existed sideways on  to the house.  The owners decided that this area would be perfect for a pool and landscape feature.

Prior to the pool constuction, the garden was landscaped with flowerbeds, box hedging, 19th century style summerhouse and pergola.

The positon and design of the pool had to be architecturally consistent with the entire renovation project.  Simplicity was key aim.  It was decided to use porcelain tiles in light green, as these seemed to convey a period feel, paving in Indian natural stone and radius corner steps.

A relaxed and tranquil atmosphere has been created with the pool harmonising perfectly with its surroundings.

Flexibility and timing were big issues with this project. Despite the restricted access, the pool was completed in six weeks as the clients had planned a garden party!!
